The Japanese are all a-quiver

I was in Austin on the weekend, and I was lucky enough to inspect a "robot jellyfish aquarium" up-close at a restaurant. Apparently I'm about 6 years late on this "craze," which Wired first reported on in 2001. The "robots" I saw in Austin were far less advanced than the machine pictured -- which suggests that in this post-9-11 climate a $50 robot jellyfish can't survive against a tank full of cheap plastic toys.

Indeed, some robot jellyfish are being forced out of tank and into the workforce. From swimming gently all day, to fighting off burglars -- such is the life of the robot jellyfish. Not to worry -- this "interior object" still gets to "lounge about and be 'beautiful'."
